The VMFA presents the Hollywood Costume Exhibit

It’s no secret that cinema has a great impact on fashion and culture, and much of what we see in fashion is influenced by the movies we watch.  And since it’s Thanksgiving break and I’m back home in Richmond, VA I had the opportunity to visit the Virginia Museum Of Fine Arts (VMFA) newest addition, featuring the Hollywood Costume exhibit. If you ever get the chance to go, I would definitely recommend it.  The exhibit is absolutely incredible. It feature’s originals from movies like The Dark Knight, The Wizard of Oz, Indiana Jones, My Fair Lady, Titanic and so much more! I was amazed at the range of costumes they had, and how visually beautiful they are in real life, like Marilyn Monroe’s iconic white dress from The Seven Year Itch.

The VMFA is the only museum on the East coast that will feature this exhibit.  It’s only there until February 17th; so you should see it while you still have time! Just be sure to call in advance for tickets.
