Earlier this year I stumbled across Kristina Bazan’s blog, Kayture. Not only is it a clever play on words (think couture, people) but it’s absolutely amazing!! 20 and Swiss born, Kristina travels around the world with her partner James Chardon blogging about her fashion adventures and finds. As if I didn’t feel inadequate enough, she also regularly works high-end brands, from Louis Vuitton, Dolce&Gabbana, Yves Saint Laurent and Dior to Mango, Guess, and Jimmy Choo. Not to mention she has been featured in magazines like Vogue and Cosmo. She usually updates her website every 2-3 days sometimes more frequently; but her instagram account has several posts a day!
Her website is kayture.com
Her Instagram account is kristina_bazan
With Coachella ending this past week, more music festivals are coming up and here’s my top five tips you need to know to dress the part!
1.) Let’s Get High…waisted shorts that is! This trend is a no brainer. It was huge for last year’s music festival season and that remains true for 2014 as well. What’s different? go for more of a ripped/distressed style.
2. When in doubt, crop it out: try a fitted or draped crop top with your high waisted cut offs or maxi skirt! You’ll feel free and but not ridiculously hot!
3.) Florals are always in bloom: It’s spring so naturally floral prints are in full swing! Try a floral pair of palazzo pants or a dainty floral crop top. Florals don’t just end with clothes, flower headbands are always a music festival favorite and go to, so don’t be afraid to mix the two floral trends!
4.) You can’t go wrong with anything Tribal: This means fringe bags, shoes or geometric dresses, jewelry, and accessories like headbands and boho bangles..just go for it!
5.) Show no fear for Shear: When you’re surrounded by thousands of people in an enclosed area it’s going to be hot. Stay cool with shear tops or laces dresses–no need to wear slips or cover up. For the most part during these festivals anything goes, but it’s important to stay cool and be comfortable!

One of my favorite parts about getting dressed every morning is accessorizing. Whether that’s with rings, bangles, headbands, or an understated necklace, accessories keep your wardrobe updated without having to actually spend money on new clothes! One of my favorite online sites that I just discovered is baublebar.com! I first heard about it after my blog crush Courtney Kerr (from Courtney Loves Dallas) collaborated with the online retailer to create a jewelry line. Her line features fabulous statement necklaces–but not the bubble necklaces trend that’s finally going out of style (thank god–why was this ever a thing?) Her jewelry is unique and sassy and absolutely perfect and affordable for dressing any outfit up.
What I love about the website is that every week they feature $10 and $20 dollar deals on jewelry pieces that don’t break the bank. If personalized jewelry is your thing, they’ve got you covered there too! Go check em’ out!
In case you missed fashion week, or haven’t had time to drool over all of the upcoming trends for fall, I’ve got you covered. One of my favorite trends I saw on the runway was fringe! It’s so fun and flirty, and gives off a romantic feel if paired with the right accessories. Michael Kors debuted the trend in overcoats, handbags and dresses (below). Other designers like Phillip Lim, Herve Leger, and Derek Lam also showcased the trend on their runways. We’ve seen fringe before on the runways but what’s different about it now, is that the fringes are softer and ornamented in a delicate manner. Be on the look out for fringe everything come this fall, whether it be accessories, garments, outerwear or detailing!
First it was the cut outs in body con dresses, and then summer brought on the monokini, and now the one trend I’ve been obsessed with lately is cut out booties! Chanel predicted back in Spring 2013 that they would be huge for fall, and they most definitely were, so huge that they’ve carried over into Spring. Steve Madden and Jeffrey Campbell make stunning cut out boots for those who don’t want to break the bank.
My advice: check out urbanoutfitters.com They’re having an amazing sale and even have some cut out booties on sale!
Want to add a little spice to your wardrobe? Try something new? Well what better way to do it than with a pair of knee high socks or a pair of funky printed pants!
Here are a few ideas of what outfits you can create with these items.
Here my friend Hannah has on a pair of loose fitting printed pants, paired with a black belt, a simple black t-shirt, and flats. So trendy! And yet so simple!
Above I am wearing knee high socks paired a pair of black panty hoes, a tight long sleeved dress, a black cardigan, and a chunky black necklace, and black pointed flats.
Here’s another example of something you can do with knee high socks.
I paired the same black knee highs, black tights, and black cardigan but instead underneath I wore a black tight skirt and a loose tank top. For my shoes I chose black combat boots. And of course, I ALWAYS accessorize.
So give it a try! You really can’t go wrong!
