After 4 years of anticipation, Kate Moss is at it again with her 15th collection for Topshop. “The Icon Is Back” according to Topshop’s website. Moss described this collection as a “wardrobe autobiography”; she drew most of her inspiration for the line from pieces in her own closet. Moss told Harpers Bazaar, “With this collection we had more time, so we could really be selective about the pieces that are included. Each one is a statement piece.” The collection features 40 items from heavily detailed evening wear to luxurious silky pajama pieces to printed wide leg trousers. The craftsmanship was something Moss was really specific on. The collection incorporates soft suede, silk chiffons from London, lace from India, fringe and hand beaded sequin details. The prices range from $76-$1,200 and the collection is available in store and online at Topshop, Nordstrom, Net-a-Porter and shopBAZAAR.com. Check out the look book below modeled by Kate Moss herself, of course.
Earlier this year I stumbled across Kristina Bazan’s blog, Kayture. Not only is it a clever play on words (think couture, people) but it’s absolutely amazing!! 20 and Swiss born, Kristina travels around the world with her partner James Chardon blogging about her fashion adventures and finds. As if I didn’t feel inadequate enough, she also regularly works high-end brands, from Louis Vuitton, Dolce&Gabbana, Yves Saint Laurent and Dior to Mango, Guess, and Jimmy Choo. Not to mention she has been featured in magazines like Vogue and Cosmo. She usually updates her website every 2-3 days sometimes more frequently; but her instagram account has several posts a day!
Her website is kayture.com
Her Instagram account is kristina_bazan
As I was scouring the Vogue website this week I came across the Vintage Bowles web series. It’s an amazing journey of how Hamish Bowles, International Editor at Large for Vogue, travels around the world seeking pieces for his legendary couture collection. Season one is on the Vogue website and it features garments by Nina Ricci, Charles James, Geoffrey Beene and YSL. It’s such a personal view into Hamish Bowles’ passion for vintage collections.
With Coachella ending this past week, more music festivals are coming up and here’s my top five tips you need to know to dress the part!
1.) Let’s Get High…waisted shorts that is! This trend is a no brainer. It was huge for last year’s music festival season and that remains true for 2014 as well. What’s different? go for more of a ripped/distressed style.
2. When in doubt, crop it out: try a fitted or draped crop top with your high waisted cut offs or maxi skirt! You’ll feel free and but not ridiculously hot!
3.) Florals are always in bloom: It’s spring so naturally floral prints are in full swing! Try a floral pair of palazzo pants or a dainty floral crop top. Florals don’t just end with clothes, flower headbands are always a music festival favorite and go to, so don’t be afraid to mix the two floral trends!
4.) You can’t go wrong with anything Tribal: This means fringe bags, shoes or geometric dresses, jewelry, and accessories like headbands and boho bangles..just go for it!
5.) Show no fear for Shear: When you’re surrounded by thousands of people in an enclosed area it’s going to be hot. Stay cool with shear tops or laces dresses–no need to wear slips or cover up. For the most part during these festivals anything goes, but it’s important to stay cool and be comfortable!

Mary-Kate and Ashley started acting at nine months old. They were extremely successful throughout their youth and teen years as actresses. Now that the Olsen’s have put their acting careers in the past, they successfully pursue fashion and are fashion icons. They each have a very distinct, very forward sense of style. They founded their line “The Row” in 2006 which includes Ready-to-wear, handbags and eyewear. The brand focuses on “relaxed and timeless elegance” and incorporates ” fine fabrics and perfect fit”. In 2012, Mary-Kate and Ashley were named Womenswear Designers of the Year. The Olsen twins are icons for their evolution of personal style and a great source of inspiration for all of us!
Two words: Lupita Nyong’o. How absolutely stunning was she?! She looked like a goddess in her pale pastel blue Prada gown and plunging neckline. All award season she’s been nailing red carpet looks and quite frankly putting many of her comrades to shame. What I love about her style is the bold color! It’s so easy to go the traditional route with black or navy, but I like that Lupita choses to make a statement and stand out from the crowd!
Now that I’ve given Lupita the attention she well deserved, I can’t help but gush about the GUYS’ style on the red carpet. Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor winners Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto (swoon) killed it at the oscars in their white tuxedo blazers. Whites and nudes proved to be a popular trend for both men and women alike. Ryan Seacrest was seen sporting the all white trend and Best Actress Winner Kate Blanchett stunned in a nude Armani Prive number. This Oscar palette of pale blues, nudes and whites are sure to be favorites with the spring season fast approaching!
Last night, I had a dream I met Johnny Depp. He moved into the house across the street, and I forced him to take a ton of selfies with me. It was a sad, dark moment when I woke up and realized it was all just a dream. I’m always inspired by Johnny and his total and complete fabulousness, and you should be too. He’s always rocked quirky clothing choices–he’s never trying to make a crazy fashion statement, he just wears what he wants. Work it.
A huge trend I’m currently obsessing over, as seen on celebrities and runways, is the Monochromatic trend. For those of you who don’t know, the term monochromatic means one color. Normally I’m opposed to a ridiculously matchy-matchy outfit, however a simple monochromatic skirt, top, and shoes is simple and sleek. Kim Kardashian flaunts the look below in two of my favorite monochromatic outfits I’ve seen. Whether you love her or hate her, she looks amazing in her nude Lanvin skirt and crop top and deep yellow gown and coat!
