A huge trend I’m currently obsessing over, as seen on celebrities and runways, is the Monochromatic trend. For those of you who don’t know, the term monochromatic means one color. Normally I’m opposed to a ridiculously matchy-matchy outfit, however a simple monochromatic skirt, top, and shoes is simple and sleek. Kim Kardashian flaunts the look below in two of my favorite monochromatic outfits I’ve seen. Whether you love her or hate her, she looks amazing in her nude Lanvin skirt and crop top and deep yellow gown and coat!
Want to add a little spice to your wardrobe? Try something new? Well what better way to do it than with a pair of knee high socks or a pair of funky printed pants!
Here are a few ideas of what outfits you can create with these items.
Here my friend Hannah has on a pair of loose fitting printed pants, paired with a black belt, a simple black t-shirt, and flats. So trendy! And yet so simple!
Above I am wearing knee high socks paired a pair of black panty hoes, a tight long sleeved dress, a black cardigan, and a chunky black necklace, and black pointed flats.
Here’s another example of something you can do with knee high socks.
I paired the same black knee highs, black tights, and black cardigan but instead underneath I wore a black tight skirt and a loose tank top. For my shoes I chose black combat boots. And of course, I ALWAYS accessorize.
So give it a try! You really can’t go wrong!
It’s getting colder, so naturally that means it’s time to break out that winter coat you’ve been hiding in your closet. This year it’s all about making a big, statement with your coat. One of the most popular trends is fur! Designers like Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs, Valentino, and Balenciaga have all shown the trend on their runways this season. Try going for vibrantly colored, patch worked, or shag coat to stand out. Or you could try a combo, classic white and black with a shag detail like this Tom Ford coat below!
Ok, so we already steal our boyfriend’s watches, t-s; I mean who doesn’t love an oversized gym workout or sleep shirt?! Well this season you can snag his suits while you’re at it! This season “suiting fabrics like herringbone, houndstooth, Glen plaid, and tweed were tailored for the ladies” (elle.com). Designers like Dries Van Noten, Stella McCartney, and Lanvin (below) have given women a whole new perspective to these fabrics. What I love most about this trend is that the classic patterns are tailored to create the feminine lines of a female’s body. With bias-cuts and peplum silhouettes, and even feather details, the menswear patterns perfectly balance femininity and masculinity for a great Fall staple piece or a classic wear to work option. Try a plaid pant or a tweed jacket for an easy way to integrate the trend into your Fall wardrobe!
So if you’re like me, you love wine; and what’s better than drinking wine (not much), wearing wine color, the newest fall trend! From Merlot, to Oxblood, to Burgundy, there’s a shade for everyone! What I love about the trend is that you can seamlessly work a wine colored blazer, or sweater into your wardrobe, and because these wine tones are effortlessly classic, you will get plenty of wear out of them. The wine craze even extends to beauty; so if you’re one of those people that likes to match their makeup to their outfit, here’s your your chance to shine. So raise your glass and embrace the red wine color trend because it’s here to stay!
I love this new trend of spiked bracelets, necklaces, earrings, you name it! It’s all over the runway as well as the celebrities. I have recently even bought a few pieces myself. Edgy, but still beautiful and artistic; I think it’s a look that’s sure to be around for a while!
