Karl Lagerfeld Launches Two New Collections

Designer extraordinaire Karl Lagerfeld is set to launch two new collections, debuting by the beginning of next year, Daily Front Row reports.

The first, KARL, is an edgy womenswear line that embodies Lagerfeld’s iconic rocker-chic personal style and is geared towards a woman in her late teens to early twenties.  Expect denim, fingerless gloves, sexy LBDs, rock-and-roll-inspired vests, and lots of leather.  Prices are affordable for the college girl, ranging from $45-95, and the collection will first debut on on January 25, 2012 then on on February 28.  Accessories and menswear lines are said to follow in the future.

The second line, dubbed Karl Lagerfeld Paris, will have its debut at Fall 2012 Paris Fashion Week.  This higher-end line will not be so college budget-friendly, with prices ranging from $411-3,425, and will be available for purchase in pop-up boutiques and “Karl Lagerfeld experience boutiques” when the fall 2012 collections hit the retail market.

Coach Goes Vintage

Coach has jumped on the bandwagon and is going the vintage route. On June 15th, Coach will debut the ‘Coach Classics’ collection. This line comprises of five iconic purses that were originally designed by Bonnie Cashin in the ’70s. They will be available to purchase on This is the first time the online fashion retailer will be selling Coach.

The re-introduced bags will be made of soft yet sturdy leather and come in popular shapes like hobo, duffle, and saddle. The prices will range from $298 to $498 and you can choose from colors like caramel, brown, navy blue, and black.  Coach’s creative director Reed Krakoff told WWD that “heritage is our hallmark.”
