The backdrop of Missoni’s latest fashion campaign is an exhibition of artifacts found from historic town fairs, amusement parks, and circuses, and hand-made woodland dioramas at London’s Museum of Everything, NYTimes.com reports. The odd, intriguing, and madcap exhibition done by artist Peter Blake serves as the perfectly complementing backdrop to the high-contrast photos snapped by Juergen Teller of the Missoni family and friends in pieces from the iconic brand of color and pattern’s latest collection.
“I said ‘no’ to every other fashion brand, as well as magazines,” Museum of Everything owner James Brett said. “I was afraid they would turn the museum into a film set and the art into a bunch of props. But this was different, with every member of the family modeling, from 19 to 80. It all made sense and has been more like an artistic collaboration than a traditional campaign.”
NYTimes.com describes Peter Blake as “the king of Brit pop art in the 1960’s,” the artist who created the cover of the Beatles’ alum “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.” The exhibition will run until mid-February. For more photos, go to nytimes.com.
