Wang X HM

H&M has recently announced their next (and first American) collaboration will be with Alexander Wang. Wang announced this collection of clothing and accessories for both women and men over Instagram. To continue the promotion, Iggy Azalea performed with the “Wang X HM” banner above the stage at this years Coachella music festival. Alexander Wang is one of the hottest top notch designers and also the creative director for Balenciaga. “This will be a great way for a wider audience to experience elements of the Alexander Wang brand and lifestyle”, Wang stated. This collection will be unveiled to around 250 stores worldwide and online on November 6, 2014. I can’t wait for this line and i’m sure others around the world are highly anticipating it too!

H&M Debuts Maison Martin Margiela Collections

H&M is all about the celebrity and high-fashion designer pairings. They’ve done it again with Belgian fashion label Martin Margiela, which will be in stores on November 15. The collection was revealed on Tuesday at a party in a 19th century, falling-down office building near City Hall in New York. While the setting might not sound too glamorous, rest assured the attendees were. Celebs included: Julianne Moore, Sarah Jessica Parker, Mena Suvari, Helena Christensen and Kanye West.

Alan Cumming compares the fashion line to ObamaCare: “It gives more people more access to things normally available only to the very rich.”

Very rich indeed! A tuxedo jacket by the mysterious designer usually has a price tag of $3,600. But in H&M, you can find it for $200. Bargain.

Not many images have been released yet, but here’s a sneak peek of what’s to come to H&M.

Style in Switzerland

For the past two weeks, I’ve been studying abroad in Switzerland. It’s been an incredible experience, and I’ve really enjoyed seeing what fashion is like on this side of the world. The Swiss are all well-dressed: no shorts, flip-flops, or sweats can be seen here. Typically people stick to a dark color palette, with lots of denim and skull motifs. There’s definitely a punk influence, and girls usually wear either ballet flats, Converse, or some other type of laced shoe. Dark skinny jeans and Louis Vuitton purses are both staples of the Swiss wardrobe.

Decked Out in Dragon Tattoos

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, the novel that has been a bestseller for months now, is now being developed into an exclusive clothing line for H&M. This is the first time H&M has ever collaborated with a film and the 30-piece line will be composed of worn-in, industrial-looking pieces with an grunge edge. Trish Summerville, the costume designer for the movie and the new H&M line, describes the collection as, “very real and very lived-in…with a fashion edge”. The chic separates will be debuted at Colette in Paris November 28th, and will be also be available in 180 H&M stores and online beginning December 14th. I know one thing that will be on my holiday shopping list!
