It’s Tacky Sweater Time

So now that the holiday season has officially begun, it’s time to start shopping for all of those holiday parties. No, I’m not talking about sequined dresses and jewel toned dreesses.  I’m referring to those tacky Christmas sweaters we’ve all come to love.  If you’re in college, this is an absolute must. You’ll inevitably be invited to several Tacky Christmas sweater parties, and you don’t want to be caught wearing the same Christmas cat jingle vest (no, I’m not kidding) twice.  Believe it or not, Walmart has a pretty solid collection of heinous sweaters.  If you’re looking to go all out, check out Let’s just say this website allows you to shop for your sweater from several categories including, 80’s, lights, naughty, and ‘the holy grail;’ so you are sure to find a gem.  If you don’t feel like spending much on a holiday sweater, go to your local Goodwill, Salvation Army or Thrift Store.  There’s bound to be grandma’s out there that’ve dontated a few ridiculous sweaters.

Gwyneth Paltrow/ Michael Kors Collaboration

Paltrow and Kors have been friends for 20 years and have just decided to work together to introduce a Christmas collection for Paltrow’s website, Paltrow says she loves Michael Kors clothes and thought that it would be fun to put a spin on some of her favorite vintage Kors pieces. The Christmas collection will include pieces such as capes, peacoats, and many accessories. I am very excited for this collection from one of my favorite designers and one of my favorite actresses!

J.Crew and Lulu Frost for Holiday 2010

This holiday, add some Frost to your J.Crew cashmere with the Lulu Frost for J.Crew jewelry collaboration, set to debut for Holiday 2010, reports Daily Front Row.  The idea of a collaboration came about when J.Crew President Jenna Lyons purchased a Lulu Frost necklace and thought it would be perfect for the iconic American brand; J.Crew Women’s Design Director Marissa Webb agreed and visited the Lulu Frost studio with her team.  They searched through Frost designer Lisa Salzer’s archives, mixing their vintage findings with modern elements for the line.

The line uses handmade chains, antiqued glass crystals, and touches of 1o-carat gold for the unique bracelets, earrings, and necklaces.  Prices range from $75 to $175 and will be available both in-store and online.
