This award celebrates the “achievement of a designer whose work has had an exceptional impact on global fashion.” says the BFC. During the award ceremony a film will be played portraying McQueen’s most iconic pieces to a soundtrack of Bjork, who also sang at his memorial service. The film was made by Nick Knight and stylized by Edward Enninful.
Jonathan Akeroyd, the chief executive of Alexander McQueen told WWD.com “We are honored to accept the BFC Outstanding Achievement in Fashion Award and that the British Fashion Council have recognized Lee’s work and contribution to the British fashion industry.”
