“Project Runway” designers Santino Rice and Austin Scarlett are heading to Small-town America to design dresses for well-deserving women. The design duo launched a half-hour television show earlier this year called “On the Road with Austin & Santino” on Lifetime.
The two are thrown into small-town sewing shops with the task of making the dream dresses for women of the small-town community, making use of local materials and what is only available nearby. Rice and Scarlett have already designed and made the dresses for a Louisiana Army captain’s graduation, a dress for a pageant contestant in Arkansas, and an Oklahoma mother’s 30th birthday. With only 48 hours to create an attractive gown, the team has to work quickly with the few resources available in the town while also hosting the show.
The duo also immerse themselves in the local culture by taking part in local activities such as riding horses or racing go-carts. The series will consist of 14 episodes all airing after “Project Runway” on Lifetime. Read the full article at news.yahoo.com.
